Happy President's Day!!!!!

Dear MOM and DAD,

Happy President's Day!!!!!

How was your Valentine's Day? We had a mission meeting which consisted of a short message from President Ellsworth, lunch, and watching 17 Miracles. Then we tried to find people that would be home that we could go visit and do service for. It was pretty cold, as Arizona goes, that day. It rained heavily from 5 to 6 (dinner time), the Lord was watching out for us because it stopped right before we went back out to work.  Funny story; we've had several people in the ward thank us for heart attacking their home... but we didn't heart attack anyone. Who ever did it put "From your 2 favorite Sisters" so they all assumed it was us... it has taken some serious convincing to get them to believe it wasn't us.

We got to do more service this week. We helped a sister in our ward with Newborns in Need kits. Service is always awesome!!!

Still trying to find new investigators, we have a couple potentials fingers crossed.  We still haven't been able to have a lesson with RJ... we had one scheduled for last night but he didn't answer the door or he wasn't home... hopefully it's the later...

The Visitors' Center is good, I've been fighting yet another cold so I've been able to rest when we are there during the day. What a blessing it has been. The stage for the Easter Pageant is almost up. Sister Parker and I are SOOOOO excited to get to see it. The Visitors' Center closes during the performance and when we are on shift we get to go talk to people and then watch the performance. So I'll get to see it a couple times, at least. My mission is truly unique, I had a RM from the Salt Lake VC tell me once, no one will understand your mission, I'm finding that to be true in that it is nothing like I thought a mission would be. I'm so glad I got over my pride and listened to the Lord and came.

Nothing new to report with our investigators, we are still struggling to get a hold of them, so I guess you could consider them dropped.
Jehovah-Jireh (meaning; the Lord will provide)
I Love you!!!!
Miss you much, love you more!!!!

Happy Valentine's Day... tomorrow!

Dear MOM, DAD, and GRANDMA,

What an interesting week... I fell like we've been working hard but I have nothing much to report. Just a lot of talking to members. We had Zone Conference last week and the biggest thing I felt I got from it was that I need to start doing the member lessons again. We are suppose to be doing them all the time but the last few transfers we haven't been very diligent at it. So the Lord has prompted us to start those again.

We haven't been able to drop anyone because we haven't been able to meet with them this week... and no one came to church... but we did get a return appointment from a man that we contacted on the street. The appointment was for last night and when we got there he was actually studying for an interview and set a return appointment for next Sunday (he actually wanted to set it for today but we're at the VC tonight, but that gives us hope that he really is interested.)

Our big focus, until we find/ the Lord puts into our path more people who want to learn, is working with less-active families. It honestly isn't my favorite. But you know me, I just don't understand why you wouldn't just go to church... The Lord is teaching me something, just got to figure out what that is and love them more.

There really isn't much to report this week, lots of riding our bikes, knocking on doors (that don't open), and praying. But I'm sure the Lord is preparing us for something amazing in this area!

I've been working on gaining a "perfect brightness of hope". We have a presentation at the Visitors' Center called Cinderella. The husband served in Orlando Florida on his mission (it's a huge miracle that he got to go) and the wife was a convert (from his mission) who worked at Disneyworld as a Princess and it's about going from the worlds view of "happily ever after" to God's view. They talk about having a "perfect bightness of hope" a lot and I decided that is something I want more of (I feel like I'm lacking a lot in that area.) Sister Proudfit (the wife) also talks about how, as she looks back on her life she can see that right before anything amazing that God has given her happens, she felt the advisory working on her extra hard and now that she's older she can see that when that starts happening that she knows something good is around the corner and she needs to strengthen her faith to be worthy of it. That is where my hope that something good is coming because Satan is working on me and the area a lot... or God is testing my "perfect brightness of hope"

Well I love you all, hope you have a fun Valentine's Day (enjoy your heart cookie Mom, we both know you'll get one haha)

Miss you much, Love you more!

From Arizona

Dear MOM, DAD, and GRANDMA,

Just a heads up my p-days the rest of this transfer are as follows; Feb 13th, Feb 20th, Feb 27th, & Mar 6th and I check my e-mail at 10:00 AM on those day.

I'll try not to run into any garbage cans... lol, I'm so thankful that I rode my bike a lot when I was younger and some when I was older (not too much but more than most I'm finding out) because I actually do really well on bike, meaning balance and coordination.

I feel like this week that Lord has been answering prayers from two months ago.  It's been very humbling because I didn't feel like I really needed it answered anymore and that's when I do need humbling. Oh how the Lord works in mysterious ways... His ways are definitely not mine. But it's okay because I needed it and I will be a better missionary for it and He answered my prayer. It's crazy how it was something I wanted at the time but then when I got it I felt like I didn't need it...

We decided that we will probably be dropping most of the people we are teaching because it feels like we have to push and pull to get them to keep commitments and that is not what we are here to do. We have to have the faith to drop so that we can find those that are ready, those that the Lord has prepared, because that's who we are here to find. It's going to be an exciting week.

Did I mention how much I love Sister Parker. We really do laugh all the time!!! Planing for p-day usually takes five minutes at most and last night it took us thirty... THIRTY, we were so loopy. Bikes wear ya out, which makes you loopy when you get home and WE LOVE IT!!!!!

The Visitors' Center is going through some changes on how we report our numbers (phone call, referrals, people talked to, etc) we will now have key indicators for the VC as well as our area. Those are basically our goals. We've been setting goals at the VC but these are more specific and will require follow-up on the people we call that accept missionaries. So the other day I was looking at the people that I have confirmed (though the Spirit of course) and I got to one that I remembered to be really neat. This guy came in with a member friend and had been trying to contact the missionaries, he was even calling himself a "dry mormon", so I got to talk to him and hear his story and then I made sure the missionaries got in contact with him. Well, I came across his and decided to see how the lessons were going. When I asked him how they were he responded "There GREAT, I got baptized last week!" How cool is that? It was a tender mercy, I didn't really have much to do with his conversion but I did get to see the results of it.

I also gave a tour to a couple at the begining of the month and it was so neat to see the Spirit touch their hearts. After the tour she said that she didn't know why she had come in but that there was a reason she had never been in before and that is was that she wouldn't have been receptive to the message but was now. So cool!!!

That's it for this week. Were headed to Target now and then an Indian Restaurant, we got permission to go to, later. Should be a good day!!!
Miss you much, Love you more!!!

Ether 12:26-28
We don't have many good hair days (helmets and all) so we took advantage of one and took a picture!
Enjoy!!!
