Crazy all around!

Dear MOM and DAD,

Sounds like life is crazy at the Anderson Home! But I wouldn't have it any other way. My week has been crazy and frustrating but I'm good. It's just a new area with 5 new wards and a ton of new investigators and I'm not remembering much but I know it will come and I seem to be settling faster than I have previously. Sister Shurtz is amazing and I love being her companion. I really have been blessed with the companions I've had, even the ones I didn't get along with, I've learned so much from each and every one. Sister Dyer taught me to work hard! Sister Everette taught me to expect and look for miracles! Sister Stephens taught me the Lord will provide! (Jehovah Jirah) Sister Parker taught me to laugh and let go! (to be more myself) Sister Dashjav taught me to love people and not to stress so much! Sister Kranendonk taught me to work hard and laugh (I've never laughed so much with a companion) and to always lift people up! And I know I'll learn even more for Sister Shurtz, already I've learned to make prayer more important and not just to rush off after I pray.

I'll write you more about the area next week when I have more of my thoughts put in place. It is an awesome area and I love the people I've met thus far. I'm still struggling being in the passengers seat all the time and my car sickness doesn't help much but I'm working on letting the Lord take care of me. I'm almost out of my meds and I'll need more immunobuild, I've been taking two a day again because I've been fighting a cold for about a month. I'll only need one more bottle and some echinacea would be good as well. I'm still looking forward to your letter about writing dad on his mission.

I think you are right about the 0-5 year olds, I love babies and that would open my options of what I could do with my degree.

I put a link to a "I'm a Mormon" I watched this week and thought of dad when I did. I think he could relate.
http://bcove.me/wfce21mf

Well that's it for now, thank you for all you do. I never really thought I could love and appreciate you and our family more than I did but everyday I meet more people I do. Even good families have wayward children and other problems, but I know now that our family really is unique. Maybe it's cause we grew up in a small town and your the best parents ever, I don't know but I'm glad for whatever it was.

Miss you much, Love you more!

"It's sufficiently decent"

August 20, 2012

Dear MOM and DAD,

Well transfer news is in... I'm headed to Mesa East Stake and going from 4 wards to 5, and I'm still at the Visitors' Center! YAY!!!! My new companion will be Sister Michelle Shurtz, she's from Clearfield UT. She's the sister who had a sibling pass away on her mission. I think I mentioned her before. She's a great missionary and she works hard so it will be a good transfer.

Well this week was full of miracles! Sadee set a baptismal date for the 8th of September. We think she'll have to go to the ward she lives in but it's still cool that she's progressing and it doesn't matter where people get baptized just as long as they do. It also is a test of their conversion when they have to transfer missionaries and wards, but she knows she might have to and she's willing to do whatever the Lord would have her do. The Gospel Blesses lives!

I don't know if you've noticed the pattern on my mission but Heavenly Father just likes to randomly put prepared people in our path. This last week we got a call from some random RM who said that when he got home he told his aunt that he'd sic the missionaries on her and her response was... "Okay, I'm ready for them now." We've had two lessons with her and she is so prepared. She meet with missionaries up in Payson AZ last year and then moved and was wanting to pick it back up when she got settled and then her nephew got home and tada! Here we are. She called a member in our ward to tell her that she wanted to set a baptismal date, so Sister Bardin called us and we called Cheryl and she's getting baptized on the 22nd of September! I'm sad I won't get to teach her anymore but I'm really excited that Sister K gets to teach her. She's never taught anyone all the way to baptism before so I'm really glad she gets to be part of this miracle.

We went to the temple this week and I was just full of gratitude for the Gospel and the temple and my family and my friends. I was just grateful for everything. Heavenly Father has blessed me so much and I don't even know what to do with myself sometimes. Sister K was telling me how in her thank you card she said that I talk about how amazing our family is all the time. Well it's true and I love you all so much, how could I help from bragging. She also told me this morning she loves the traditions our family has, because I talk about those too.

The weather hasn't been too bad this summer. I think it's gotten up to 115 three times and that's it, others may think it's hot (and it is) but I'm grateful it's not 120. One of our ward mission leaders was released and we didn't even know it till a week later... still waiting on a new one to be called but I know that the Bishop is being very prayerful about it all. I have loved the bishops in this area. I'm just grateful for all the amazing people I get to meet!

That's all for today. I'll work on getting a contact number to you. And thank you for doing all that school stuff for me as well.

Miss you MUCH, Love you MORE!

In response to the quote no effort wasted -"It's not a waste of time... you'll learn you were an idiot!"

All of today's quotes are from Jono (John-O), our ward mission leader in the YSA ward, he served in England and he's super funny!

Book of Mormon Challenge

I had Sister Anderson write letter to our ward.  It was a wonderful letter and I will post it later when I get it back from the news letter lady.

In that letter she asked that those so inclined, read the Book of Mormon in a "transfer".  A transfer is 6 weeks. Her Mission President's wife challenged her some time earlier to read the Book of Mormon in a transfer.  She was so impressed and learned so much reading more than just a chapter a day.  It really made it come alive for her.  So for her last transfer she is going to read the Book of Mormon.  She will be starting on October 3.  She would love to hear your experiences if you choose to join her.  She will be returning home on November 13th.   Colleen

The Chicken is .... DEAD!

August 13, 2012

Dear MOM and DAD,

This week we've had 4 animals die... The members we live with have chickens so when they leave town they ask us to let them in and out of the pen morning and night and to make sure they have water, because when they left town last month one of them died. So we had been doing that faithfully but one night not all of them were in the pen when we went to lock it... well we found it a short time later DEAD... probably because it was sick and it was the first day it got to 115 degrees. But that was just one of the four... the day before we had found a dead gopher in the pool. He had fallen in and drowned because he couldn't get back out... we know this because he died in swimming position. Then the day after we found a dead bird on our lawn, from where I have no idea... and yesterday a bird flew into the window at the Visitors' Center and died from it... I'm convinced it's the second coming... just kidding but it's been pretty weird that's for sure.

The Lord blessed us with two new investigators this week. Kyle and Tiffany aren't very religious but said we could come back and talk to them. They ended up canceling our appointment because of work and then again because they were sick, but then we stopped by this last week and they were both home and let us come in. We had a really good talk about God blessing their lives with the gospel and how if they did their part in finding out if it was true they would see the blessings. We also talked a little about temples and eternal marriage and they really liked that, so they said they would try it out. We're excited to teach them though I think it will be a struggle to set up lessons with them because they have crazy schedules. But we believe they are prepared and even though they don't think they are religious they are searching for something and I know we have it!

We had Mission Tour today. Elder Marcos A. Aidukaitis was the General Authority that spoke to us. It was really good, he was funny and spiritual, he uplifted us and called us to repentance. It was just really neat how he chastened us but never really "chastened" us. It was good I'm still processing it all but it was good.

Sunday was a total "trunkie" day for both Sister K and I (mostly me though). We went to our YSA ward and it is a really good ward which makes me miss being in a YSA  ward, going to activities, having munch and mingles after church, and just being around people my age. (It's probably a good thing I'll probably be getting transferred next, there aren't any grantees but I'm pretty sure I'll be moved, I've been in this area 6 months almost) Then we went to visit a less-active member and while we were there her grandson (he's about 25) come over and said when she was finished that she could come over and watch Pride and Prejudiced with him (that's her favorite Sunday movie) and then they talked about going to breakfast the next morning.  It just made me miss spending time with my Grandma... and then I bragged about Grandma to one of the Senior Elders at the VC when I got on shift and that just made me miss her all the more. I was also talking about the memories I had from my youth and how I loved them and he told me to make sure I thank my mom and dad for giving me those memories. So THANK YOU Mom and Dad!  Well that was my "trunkie" day, but don't worry we got a lot done that day too. We had a member present lesson with Sadee (who by the way is doing awesome, she's read up to page 30 in the Book of Mormon just his last week, how cool is that?) and 2 less-active lessons and a bunch of member visits.

Well I guess that's all I've got for you this week. Miss you much, Love you more!

 My week and other stuff

 Hey MOM,

Sister Dyer was visiting this last week and she told me my blog hasn't been updated since April... and Kristy told me last month you aren't forwarding my emails anymore... I can send them to Kristy if you want her to post and forward them, I understand you are busy so it wouldn't be a problem for me to just send my emails to Kristy too, you'd just have to give her my blog password (because I don't remember it) so she could post them... or maybe even Kember because Kristy it pretty busy as well. And has my box made it home from Richfield yet? Just curious.

This last week was pretty hard, you know how I let my emotions get the best of me, but the last few days have been good so I know I'll be okay. It's just hard to let something go that I've wanted my whole life, but I feel like we all get to the point where God wants us to give it ALL and I never could before, I never had the choice. Heavenly Father is just giving me a chance now to show Him who's most important to me. And you know me I'm all about doing what He wants me to and then eventually I see that His way was best and I'm glad I followed.

We have a new investigator in the HighGroves YSA ward. Her name is Sadee and she's been around members her whole life and knew they all had something and that it was something she should have but never knew what it was, so she's been coming to church for 4 weeks with her best friend. We asked her how she felt after our first lesson (in which we talked about baptism) and her response was "I'm a fan!" We are excited about teaching her.  She lives right outside of the ward though so we are still trying to decide what to do about that.

We've had lots of little miracles this week too (I feel like some are in part because of the decision I made last week and that Heavenly Father is saying now I can show you real missionary work). the best one is we have a potential we've been trying to contact in the Avalon ward but have had not luck in doing so, he's YSA age so we've been thinking it would be good to get the YSA's involved. Well we had dinner with some girls from the YSA ward last night and they had a recent convert and non-member friend over to eat with us. About half way though the dinner Sister K leans over and whispers "Do you know who that is?" So I look back at Errick (that's his name) and of course I don't recognize him (because we've never seen him). She then said "That's Errick Daniels!" (the potential we've been trying to contact) She'd figured it out after hearing some other names mentioned during dinner. He still doesn't know we've been trying to contact him but we are sure it was a blessing that we hadn't met him yet because we were going to meet him then and now we know he has fellowship in the YSA ward and we know who we need to talk to about best inviting him to take the lesson.

That's probably the most exciting news on my end. But I've definitely felt your prayer this week and I might add that you pray for me to hold strong to the end, you know how I get when finishing things, to the point I just want to be done, and that will make for a long last transfer if I get that way. Anyway I'm excited for your letter and I'm praying for your finals, you'll do awesome! You're super smart! I love you!

Miss you much, Love you more!

Love Sister Anderson

P.S. Tell Lauren congrats and the rest of my Siblings (except Ryan, he still writes me every week and has been my salvation for it) to write me. In the last almost two months I've only received 5 or 6 letters that weren't from Ryan I'm feeling a little forgotten... (that sounded more down that I actually feel, but it still bums me out) =0D

And that challenge applies to you and dad as well (and the rest of the family) If I have time to do it as a missionary I know you all can find time to do it (yes I get study time but that is spent studying for others) Just saying. I love you!!!! And send more pictures... WOW this is a really demanding letter, sorry everything of course is a request. =0D

 Awkward week!!!

Dear MOM and DAD,

Well one word to describe my week...... AWKWARD!  I don't think I could even begin to tell you about all the awkwardness of this week, but just know we had many awkward moments.
Maybe I'll try to expound on that.
AWKWARD moments:
  1. We were making phone calls in our car and a lady came out to see if we needed anything because she thought we were creeping...
  2. Crazy lady giving us a bunch of her cloths, because we did service (I don't feel it appropriate to tell you more at this time, maybe someday...)
  3. Going in the outs in gated communities
  4. Not really knowing what to say when people answer the door
  5. A less-active inviting us in and not inviting us to sit down and then ignoring us...
So those were just a few I could remember.
Jeff doesn't actually live in our area, so we transitioned him to his ward, so we didn't have a baptism this week. We have alot of people in our wards that come and aren't members but they don't actually live in the ward boundaries, so we'll be teaching alot of first lessons and then transitioning them to the correct ward. But I know the Lord will bless us if we are diligent.

We had another hubbub this week and it rained like crazy again. I actually got pictures as the storm was coming in, so cool. All week is has been cloudy and it has been really cool to see them change and move. It just reminds me we have a loving Heavenly Father every time I see the beauty of nature.

We did get a new investigator this week, he's been living with his less-active girlfriend for 19 years and she wants to be active in the church but they are struggling to set a marriage date. He committed to pray to know if God was real and we have hope that he has real potential. Serina is doing better than we knew, bishop said he had a good chat with her and she's still going strong she just has alot on her plate that she is dealing with. I feel so much better knowing that she still has a testimony. Thank you for you prayers on her behalf.

I met a little girl named Carmen this week (picture included)

Well that's my week. Send more pictures I love seeing you!

Miss you much, Love you more!

Love Sister Anderson

We ate at a members home this week who went to Bountiful High School and she pulled out her '88 and '89 year books and look who I found! I thought it was awesome. She even remembers having him. She didn't remember the class just that she had him as a teacher and she liked him and thought he was funny!

What a week!

Dear MOM and DAD,
Thank you for my cute package, I have the wind chimes hung up and everything and the stamps were greatly needed, you're the best!

I don't have a ton of time today but I'm sending you a hand written letter this week. We got two new wards, Avalon and HighGroves YSA, I may have never trained but this is my second time whitewashing... I'm so excited to be in a YSA ward again, they are so alive and full of activity. We had a lesson with a guy who's been coming for 4 week, last night. He set a baptismal date for next Saturday. He is so prepared.

It rained like crazy on Friday, like total down pour. I've NEVER seen it rain so much and then in 2 hours it was gone. The picutes were taken at 3:30 when it started to rain (we were walking because it was cooler) then 30 mins later, I was pouring water out or my shoe... that's how much rain there was, then 1 hour later the skys cleared. So crazy! The other picture was from the Fourth, Sister Marrott and I were "The Stars and Strips".

Did you ever get the box from Richfield? I think it was the one that had a box and a Book of Mormon Timeline and then it had Pickled Catus just for you two (because you like all things pickled) so I hope you've got it, and it has my letters from people in it. Just let me know!

Well I get you a letter in the mail today, but that's it for now!

Miss you Much, Love you more!!

 Transfer news...kind of...

Dear MOM and DAD,

President Ellsworth is trying something new this transfer, he's letting us know if we are getting transferred but not where. It's to avoid transfer gossip. But none of that really applies to me because Sister K and I are staying together. We may be getting two extra wards but we still aren't sure about that yet. We're excited to work hard this transfer and we've already set some new transfer goals that we want to work on. Basically we want to be more self less and focused on others, it's is going to be great!

We got to do some secret service this week and it was AWESOME!!! We raked the yard and pulled the weeds of some returning members in our ward.

We've been working with some more less-actives but we're going to be refocusing on the part member families. Sister Hansen always use to say we are here to complete eternal families. Make me glad mine is complete and active!

I actually have a headache so this letter will be short this week. But I want to you know I love you all and I'm grateful for you everyday!

Miss you Much, Love you More!

" I'm in love with a clown" Sister K

Dear MOM and DAD, (and Paula, Randy, and Danielle)

Well my week has been pretty average, meaning nothing hugely miraculous but nothing hugely bad either and full of little miracles every day. It's almost like we have so many mini miracles that I don't even notice them all, I acknowledge they are miracles but it's almost normal. Which I think should be the normal for everyone. God is a God of miracles and He wants to bless our lives and make us happy, sometimes we just need to ask and then always be looking for the miracles. I think that is a huge part of why I see so many miracles now, I'm ALWAYS looking for them because I know they are there! What a blessing to have the knowledge I do of  a loving Heavenly Father who ultimate goal is my happiness, so I know when things are rough or a trial is not being eased it's is because what I will learn for it will make me much happier than having it taken away! (Perfect Brightness of Hope)

We had some really good meetings yesterday. We had asked a couple members to bare their testimony on missionary work this week and even though we weren't they the Bishop said that their were quite a few who bore theirs and that the whole t talks about faith to be healed and that doesn't always mean in a physical way. Healing is more the emotional and spiritual and curing is all physical. People can be physically cure and not healed and people can still have physical ailments and be fully heal though the atonement of Christ. I just loved that because I feel more often are we healed when we are not cured then are we cured and healed. It was a really neat lesson. And then Relief Society was all about miracles and was really good as well.

Serina is struggling being active so prayers on her behalf would be wonderful. We are meeting with Katie and Gabe this week so we're hoping it is a good lesson. Still working hard, talking to everyone, and laughing all the time. Sister K and I actually got in a fight this week but the cool part was we were able to work though it and not have left over feelings. It is amazing what humility, prayer, and the atonement can do. I'm so grateful for my companion and I love her so much. She has been a huge blessing of my mission!

I guess that's all I got!
Miss you Much, Love you More!

The pictures are for laughs and to prove we really do have fun! =D And we did our hair the same that day too (even though you can't see it)

This is more just cuz. I would love to get hand written mail (Including Paula... tell her I'm feeling unloved, it's been over a year since I've heard from her, meaning it was in person last time... But I still love her =D ) I also would love a letter from daddy... just so you know. Thought I'd throw that out there!

Saving souls on sticky note at a time!

 Dear MOM and DAD,

We found two new investigators this week, and we're really excited about both of them. Gabe is Katie boyfriend, Katie is a less-active in the ward. They are really cool people and we're excited to teach them. We had a great first lesson and just laid it all out there. Our purpose and expectation of why we were teaching him and he's willing to read and pray, so we're excited! The other is Rene' she is super familiar with the missionaries and loves talking to them but says she has a problem with the Book of Mormon "I live by the ten and that's all I need" but she committed herself to reading the first BOOK of Nephi and to open her heart and ask if she should read more, all before this coming Saturday. We are stoked to meet with her on Saturday.

We're trying to work more with less-actives and actually have been getting into their homes, that in it's self is a huge blessing!

So even though it was funny when people told my trainer that she was almost finished, when she had under 5 months left, I don't like it now. People tell me that all the time!!! And it's not even that I don't want to come home but I don't want to get trunkie and that does not help. So just a shout out on behalf of all missionaries, don't say stuff like that, but focus on what they are doing right now, when you talk with them. I know that's a huge help to me.

We got to do a double session at the temple this last week with a couple other Zones. They were ASL sessions too, (meaning they had a separate screen with someone signing on it) so I got to watch the whole thing in sign language and I actually understood alot, thank you High School ASL! But it was really neat spending so much time in the temple.

Well that's it for this week, we're still working had on finding people (even in 110 degrees) and the Lord is blessing us.

Miss you much, Love you more!

 Learning lots

Dear MOM and DAD,

Well it turns out our investigators really aren't that legit but that's okay because this week we receive 5 referral and we are pumped to contact them. We taught Brandon but he really just wants to hang out... we told him we don't hang out but that if he wanted the blessing Heavenly Father was waiting to give him we'd love to teach him, so we told him to pray about it and let us know at our next lesson. He hasn't confirmed the next lesson, it was suppose to be today... so we're thinking he's "not ready". But we were bold and planted some deep seeds, someday when missionaries find him again he'll remember that some missionaries taught him and he'll want to learn more and then get BAPTIZED! Do you like my positive attitude? I got that from Sister Parker when we were companions and Sister Parker trained Sister Kranendonk so we are both trying to have an attitude like her. I really have been blessed with my companions.

There are a lot of baptisms happening in my old area... well two that I knew before so I'll get to go to them. And Menilik's mom met the missionaries this last week (actually when Sister K was on exchanges in that area so it was neat she could be a part of all of it) and invited them for dinner on Sunday, she's not interested but I'm praying that her heart has softened enough that Menilik will feel okay taking the lessons before he goes up to school. That way Jason, the member who referred him could baptize him and I could come because it's in the mission. Pray for him, he is so prepare he just needs the courage to move forward.

Though there still isn't too much going on in the area right now were are seeing little miracles everyday, even if it's that the heat isn't getting to us too bad, and I'm learning so much. I feel the Lord is teaching me trust. I know that I trust Him with many things but there is always more I could give and I'm working really hard to give it all. I'm also being blessing with learning Charity.. meaning that some people are harder to love than others, but they are the ones who meed it the most. It will come. I've been thinking back to the me before my mission and I really am starting to see the changes I've made, I could put it down to anything specific (though I could yesterday, I just can't remember today... oh well) I do know I am a better person and more of the daughter Heavenly Father wants me to be, I've got plenty to go but I'm glad that the Lord is blessing me with some hind sight.

That's it for this week. Alma 38:5

Miss you much, Love you more!

PS  The yard looks GREAT and I love the wood post awning! I love our home!

Also Dad I've been giving toys to the senior couple for fathers/mothers day and they all say thank you, everyone loves them and I love giving them and bragging about my papa!

 Investigators

MOM and DAD,

First thank you my incredible family for my fun package! I loved it! Dad everyone loves your toys and I love giving them. Sister Kranendonk has decided she want a bunch when she's older and has kids, I told her you would love to teach/help her make some, that my family loves to adopt new members.

So the last few days Sister K and I have been SOOOOO warn out! Like dead tired, it was bad, laughing over the stupidest things and looking like we had only got an hour of sleep... but it was all good because we looked that way because we had been working HARD all week. We work really well together and neither one of us mind talking to people on the street because we both know that we are not going to have to do all the talking and that our companion will back us up and support everything we say. We have awesome unity with each other and the Spirit (or "we"nity as our Zone Leaders would call it) and it really has been the best transfer thus far! Definitely the most unity we've both had with any of our companions.

Because we've gotten better at talking to everyone we got 2 new investigators last week, from talking and then praying with them. We not too sure how solid they are yet but we have return appointments this week. It's just nice to have people to teach and to feel like I'm giving my all. I'm pretty sure that I would be okay if Sister K was my companion the rest of my mission, she's awesome!!!! And we really do work hard in the work and to self improve.

We got to do more service this week and that was GREAT! Things have slowed quit a bit at the Visitors' Center because it being summer and all but I still love being there and it is now a time to show the Lord that I can be busy and focused even when there aren't alot of people.

I love hearing from you all and I hope all the fam is well. I'm so blessed to be in our family!

Miss you much, Love you more!

Working hard...or hardly working ?!

Dear MOM and DAD,
Well this week has been really good. We still don't have much to show for it, but we have been working really hard! We talk to everyone! (Even if that means pulling over a few block ahead and walking back, kind of creepy, but that's missionary work) We do service! We helped one of our ward mission leader plant some flowers, we helped a family move out of their home, and we helped a a sister in the ward with back problems clean her kitchen. You know me I love service!

Sister Kranendonk is a great missionary and I'm learning so much from her! We set some goals of what we want to get out of our transfer and we've been working hard on them. I feel like I've already learned so much in the transfer and it's only been a week. We teach very well together (meaning the spirit is the senior companion and we let him lead the lesson) and we are getting very bold as we testify to people on the street. It is going to be a great transfer. We've decided we want to be friends, have fun, work hard and be unified in the work, and so far we're doing pretty good!

We've been trying to do member lesson more so we can get to know the members and we had a couple last night. It really helps our teaching and reminds me why I'm hear (sometimes that is easy to forget when you aren't teaching any one).

The pictures are as follows:
1-Sister McKee (from Duchesne) and me before she finished her mission
2-Just like college... taking apart beds (we had to move our beds around the apartment because we had an extra sister)
3-My flower I planted from a seed 3 months ago
4-That's how tall it is now (up to my waist)

6-Sister Kranendonk and I

More about Sister Kranendonk, she's 24 from Salt Lake City (by the airport), graduated at USU (that will make Dad happy) in Family and Consumer Development, she wants to be a counselor for families and children at hospitals. She's amazing and I love her!!!

Glad to hear about the fun of family reunion (we should come up with a clever name for it like The Anderson Family Annual Extravaganza, that might not work because every time we gather it's an Extravaganza!) Oh how I miss you all so much!!!!!! I have the best family in the world!

I guess that's it for now, get feeling better mom and tell dad not to work TOO hard. Loves and kisses to everyone! (I sent Joey a card if he didn't get it yesterday he should have gotten it today, but tell him Happy Birthday from me anyway!)

Miss you MUCH, Love you MORE!!!!

Transfer Time Again

 Dear MOM and DAD,

Now that my "UN" talent has been read I'm expecting some pretty awesome mail from ALL my siblings! ;-) I'm super excited to plan next years!!!! What did everyone else do for their "UN" talents? What was the best white elephant? Did anyone break a trophy this year? Oh man I miss our family, but we'll make up for it next year!!!!

So transfer news is in. Sister Dashjav is leaving and Sister Kranendonk is coming to me. She's from Utah... sad to say but I don't remember where exactly. But I'm so excited! I loved having Sister Dashjav and we've had a blast together. I actually prayed to be Sister Kranendonk's companion at some point on my mission, the Lord really does answer my prayers.

This weekend was so beautiful it was in the 80's all weekend. We talked to lots of people... no one accepted. But we did contact a less-active family we had been trying to see and they came to church yesterday. We have a bunch of service lined up for the week so I'm excited about that. And we're singing at the fireside on Sunday.

Menilik is doing great! He hasn't decided to tell his mom yet but he does know it's true and wants to be baptized after he's learned more. I'm just praying he gets baptized here, it's in our mission so I could come if he did. If not I know he'll get baptized this year if not here than at school and in the long run it doesn't really matter where people get baptized just that they do, right?

Nothing else too exciting, just trying to work hard and then hope the Lord blesses us with people to teach.

So if you wonder what sorts of things we do on chat I copied an interesting conversation we had with a man yesterday for Nigeria, that we had on chat. Now not all our conversations are like this but we do have some pretty interesting chats with people. People are not afraid to talk about anything when they know that you can't see them... Anyway I hope you enjoy! We were sure laughing hard! =D

Not Much To Tell

Dear MOM and DAD,

Well this week we have work really hard, it's always good to feel like you've worked hard. What working hard consists of is; Visiting members and setting up member lesson (mostly for this coming week), knocking on lots of less-active members doors and no one answering, talking to lots of people on the street and no one wanting to learn more, delivering Mothers Day chocolate bars to less-active sisters (which most of them opened the door then...),and sweating a lot. Hence the nothing much to tell... but it is all good! The Lord knows His work and we just have to work hard and He will provide and if not then we get to learn something. I am a little sad we don't have a lot of work but I really do trust the Lord knows what he's doing.

We dropped Sarka after we had an amazing lesson. She like to talk religion but doesn't want to be happier and isn't looking to believe anything we teach, she just likes to learn about what other people believe. (Like Jill from my greenie area) But the good thing about all of this was that I've never prayed so much before and during a lesson as I did in that lesson and we were able to ask good inspired questions and follow the spirit as we taught her" not a lesson. So we learned how to better teach together and that is always good as a missionary.

We got to sing at the Spanish Fireside last night, I didn't understand most of what was said but I could pick up a word here and there and it was fun to sing in Spanish. The Visitors' Center choir has been such a blessing and I love singing in a choir again.

Happy Birthday Kember Lue Who!!!!!

Well that all for now, I'm sending a letter out today that I think you'll really like. Take lots of pictures of Family Reunion for me!

Miss you much, Love you more!

PS   Tell Grandma Cope

Happy Birthday!!!!!!!

for me!

Another  Week

2012Dear MOM and DAD,

This week we had Zone Conference. It was really good, inspired me to be better. We are now going to offer to pray with people, because I guess in the Christian world it's normal to pray with people, so when we meet people and they don't seem to interested in what we are teaching then we can offer to pray for blessings on them and their homes and it gives them a chance to feel the spirit and it softens their heart. We haven't had a chance to ask many people and the ones we have asked weren't to interested in it but it came from our mission President so it's inspired and I'm sure we'll see miracles.

We got a new investigator this week. Her name is Sarka and she's from the Czech Republic. She was a former, she says she doesn't believe in God but she is willing to discuss it and pray. We think it will have to be a lot of inspired questions and praying for her. We have a lesson so we'll see how that goes. =D

The weather is warming up so you should all be grateful for your 75 degree weather. We've pulled out the sunscreen and are ever grateful for our car!

Sister Orton got a new companion this week her name it Sister Taylor from Bountiful and she is awesome. I was nothing like the missionaries that come out now, I was timid and avoided talking with people and she is a go get 'er. It cool to see.

Got a wedding announcement from April this week, she's getting married on June 9th. That's exciting for her, you should go to her reception for me.

It was good to see everyone, of course my babies are getting too big and need to stop growing! And it was exciting to hear about your missionary work at home! Keep it up!

Mom could you send me some prevacid, i'm also down to a couple weeks on my meds, and the name of the microwave veggie steamer, or brand, is Lekue.

Well that's it... sad I didn't hear from anyone today = ( But as always,

Miss you much, Love you more!

Tired
Dear MOM and DAD,
Well we went to the Phx Zoo followed by Steve's Krazy Subs for Zone activity so I'm drained from being in the sun but I'l try to make this email exciting... maybe!

Yes I did get your email, I'll figure out who's house we'll do it at and I'll give them your information so they can call you and it will be sometime between 6-7.
Since we baptized our only investigators we are now looking for people to teach and haven't found any yet, but I can feel something coming, the advisory is working really hard on our entire mission so I just know something awesome is coming.

Sister Parker (one of our roommate sisters) went home this week, she's had a headache for the last two months and they finally decided she need to go home and get better. She plans on coming back so we're praying for her. We are now in a temporary trio, but Sister Orton just goes with random sister while we are at the Visitors' Center.

I do want to give a shout out to all the "moms" in my life (because I can't afford to send you all cards) Mom, Grandma Kelley, Grandma Cope, Kristy, Misty, Kelsha, Kember (being an aunt counts too), Paula, All my aunts (to avoid missing anyone), Mission moms; Sister Birch, Sister Shelley, and anyone else that is a mother and has an impact on my life!

I LOVE YOU ALL
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY
There is a line in a song that sums up the way I feel about you all "I know I'm who I am today because I knew you!"
Moms are angels without wing, and my mom is the best (sorry I'm bias)

Miss you Much Love you More (sorry it's not longer, i'll try to have something awesome for you next week)

Love Sister Anderson (I'll see you on Sunday)
Sorry there were picture but it won't send with them

Baptisms!!!

May 1, 2012

Dear MOM and DAD,

Serina, Kyana, and Michael all were baptized on the 28th and confirmed on the 29th. It was a really good baptism and they had a lot of support there. She said before she got in she was still feeling anxious and burdened and as she step into the water she felt Heavenly Father take it all and then she was instantly calm. She cried at both and she doesn't get emotional so it was really neat to see the actual change in her countenance and her children we so happy. They had their baptismal interviews this last week and the Elder who interviewed Kyana said that at the end she said if she's not married when she's 21 she wants to serve a mission because of Sister Dashjav and I, I felt pretty special and it was a huge blessing and answer to my prayer to get to teach such an amazing family!

We finally got our accounts approved for chat (my companion and I) some sisters have had theirs for awhile but a bunch of us had to wait. But we finally got it and Sister Dashjav and I got an investigator on chat yesterday. It was really fun, in a live lesson you can't talk about what your response will be and then scream and holler when they accept an invitation (both of which we did yesterday) and instead of it being my sentence and her sentence we have one that includes both our thoughts and style of talking! It was a lot of fun and when have a return appointment tonight.

Church was really good, even though the topics where more for after the mission, I took lots of notes that I can look of when I get home. I felt very "fed" after.

One of the sisters at the VC found out her sister died yesterday so if you could keep Sister Michelle Shurtz in your prayer I know that would help.

I know that the atonement is real, I've seen it so much on my mission in my life and in the lives of others. I know we have a loving Heavenly Father who always does what is best for us (even when I may not agree...lol). I know that everything Jesus Christ did was for you, because He loves us. At the VC there is a mural on the wall of the universe and one day I was sitting there wondering why it's there, why did they paint that specific picture? Then the spirit told me that everything that was created was created because of God's love for you (that comes from Pres. Uchtdorf) and even though all that was created is wonderful and amazing Christ is always focused on us just as the statue is looking at us. I know that we are Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost's main focus, so that we can return. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Christ's chruch restored in its fullness and I thank the Lord for parents who raised me in it. THe Book of Mormon IS true and we DO have a living prophet.

I've been a slacker on encouraging the fam to create a mormon.org profile. Here's a link to mine http://mormon.org/me/5SQQ/Karmin/ and I would love it if all of you would create one. This is one way the Lord is moving His work forward and you will never know who you can touch with your testimony.

Miss you much, Love you more.
I'm excited to see/hear you on Mother's Day!

Love Sister Anderson

Catching UP

To Friends and Family,    I (Karmin's) mom started school on line the first week in May.  Since that time I have just procrastinated getting her emails on her blog.  So (sorry) you will be getting several emails as I get her letters posted.  Please bear with me.  Thanks,  Colleen
